Purpose
John Driskell Hopkins, known as "Hop," is a singer, songwriter, and founding member of the Zac Brown Band. Since being diagnosed with ALS in 2021, Hop has embraced the belief that every day is a gift—we're not promised tomorrow. His mantra, "I'm singing it, so I'm still bringing it," reflects his commitment to living with purpose. That spirit echoes one of Joe Martin's guiding principals: "Keep your sense of purpose intact, in sight, and in focus." Hop continues to live every day with meaning—sharing his music, cherishing his family, and driving progress in ALS research through his foundation, Hop On A Cure.

Our Mission
The Joe Martin ALS Foundation's mission is to empower families as they face the challenge of living actively with ALS by providing home care and other services at no cost.
We Believe
We believe a strong support net can help people living with ALS (PALS) and their families obtain the best caregiving techniques, equipment, and bolster their will to fight this disease.
